Free State Liquor Bill
The Free State Liquor Bill and draft Regulations have been published for public comment. The Bill and Regulations deal with the retail on and off consumption sale of liquor together with the licensing of Micro manufacturers of liquor in the Free State.
The Free State Liquor Board is hoping to finalise and publish both the new act and regulations by the end of the first quarter of 2008.
Persons wishing to obtain a copy of the Bill and Regulations and wishing to make comment may contact the Provincial Liquor Board. The Board recently published the following notice –
INVITATION FOR COMMENTS: DRAFT FREE STATE LIQUOR REGULATIONS, 2007
The Free State Liquor Act was passed by the Free State Provincial Legislature. However, in order to ensure that the total legislative framework is in place when the Act is put into operation, Regulations should be promulgated. Draft Regulations, which include schedules relating to forms, fees and business hours were drafted. All interested persons are invited to furnish any comments on the Draft Regulations set out in the following pages or any representations which they may wish to make in regard thereto. Such comments or representations must be submitted in writing to the following person on or before 31 October 2007:
